Meet our awesome team.

We are a team of dedicated veterinarians, veterinary technicians and nurses with extensive experience in the area of emergency and critical care, medicine and surgery. We operated in a purposely built veterinary clinic that is fitted with equipment catered for advanced emergency care. We also work closely with Southpaws Veterinary Specialist Centre in Melbourne in order to provide you with the best treatment options and up to date advice.

Dr Nadia Wong Central Vet Emergency Castlemaine

Dr Nadia Wong BVSc MANZCVS (small animal surgery)

Dr Nadia worked in central NSW, Sydney, Melbourne and Bendigo in over twenty clinics before returning to central Victoria to provide a Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care service for this region. She completed extra training in Emergency and Critical Care Medicine and Membership in Small Animal Surgery. Her interest lies in orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery and critical care.

Nadia LOVES working at Central Veterinary Emergency because of the wonderful team, great clients and that everyone here is dedicated to providing the BEST care for our patients - no matter what species, size and no matter how complicated or simple their problem is.

When not at work, Nadia can be found sleeping in with her four cats, a Belgian Shepherd and a Staffy. Her diet consists of mostly brunch, steak and exotic fruits. She would love to have a permaculture garden and is looking forward to the age of virtual reality video games.

‘The ability to work in a practice that provides high level small and large animal care as well as helping injured wildlife is fantastic’.

Dr Dean Bridgefoot Central Vet Emergency Castlemaine

Dr Jennifer Phibly BVSc

Dr Dean graduated from Melbourne Vet School in the dark ages before the internet and when mobile phones were HUGE!

He has worked in Hong Kong, Scotland, El Salvador and recently Thailand. A confirmed recent convert to soccer (football). Dean is the father of 3 lads and is married to Carolyn, a wild Scotswoman. They have lived in Castlemaine since 2001. He loves working with cows and chooks, but definitely not with the big factory farms and feedlots.

He’s an unrepentant optimist who reckons the Western Bulldogs will eventually win a flag.
