Physiotherapy
CVE recommends that all orthopaedic patients receive physiotherapy post-surgery. The surgery can fix the bone and main muscle systems, but good physiotherapy afterwards is often needed to help our patients return to original function. For that, we are very lucky to have Meagan from Valley Complementary Animal Therapies.
Meagan Harrison - Valley Complementary Animal TherapiesMeagan is a veterinary nurse with over 15 years' experience and a qualified canine myofunctional therapist. Meagan's treatments assist with the rehab of post-surgery orthopedics, soft tissue injuries, older arthritic dogs or performance dogs. She works on the soft tissue including, muscles, tendons and fascia which is connective tissue that holds everything together in the body. Myo (muscle) functional therapy is about making sure the muscles and connective tissue are able to move freely and therefore enable the animal to have the best range of movement possible, reduce inflammation and pain, break down trigger points and scar tissue.
